Car Auction Reaches $7.5 Million in Sales

Tulsa, OK (November 30, 2010) –The Leake Collector Car Show & Auction posted sales of $7.5 million during their Dallas auction. The three-day auction was held in Dallas Market Hall November 19-21.  The top selling car was a 2006 Saleen S7, selling for $266,750 with the buyer’s premium.  

 Other top selling cars were: a 2006 Ferrari F430 Spider at $156,200, a 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago selling for $151,250, a 2008 Spyker C8 Spyder selling for $145,750 and a 1970 Plymouth Superbird at $139,700 – all with the buyer’s premium included.

 Car enthusiasts lined up early and filled every seat to see a unique collection of cars, including Cadillacs, Corvettes, Camaros, Street Rods, Mustangs and other vintage, collector, muscle, high-performance and specialty vehicles. A total of 338 lots were sold during the three-day auction, with a 67 percent sales rate.

 “Our Dallas auction exceeded our expectations,” stated Richard Sevenoaks, president of Leake Auction Company. “With a 67 percent sales rate, we had a stellar auction. We had record attendance, and I truly believe it’s because we provide a product like no one else in the area.  Leake Auction Company was established in 1964 as one of the first car auctions in the country. More than 40 years later the auction company has sold over 32,000 cars and currently operates auctions in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.
